Four of the county's biggest non-league clubs will try to make the final step to a Carrow Road final tonight.

The reserves of King's Lynn Town – Norfolk's highest-ranked semi-professional club at Step Three of the part-time pyramid – will welcome a Dereham Town side who play one level below them, but two tiers above the Linnets' second-string. In the night's other Norfolk Senior Cup semi-final, Step Five table-topping Norwich United host their Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division counterparts Gorleston, the 2014 winners.

Lynn Reserves knocked out the area's other Step Four club in the last round, Wroxham, and boss Robbie Back admits he will be 'mixing and matching' again as Lynn bid to make their first showcase fixture at Norwich City since 2011.

'We'll use a sprinkling of first-team fringe players,' said Back, whose second-string Lynn sit fourth in the Thurlow Nunn League First Division.

'We did it at Wroxham and it just gives us a little bit more experience. Gary (Setchell, first-team boss) said from the beginning that he would help us if we needed it and if some of his players needed games. That's what a reserve team is for.'

Lynn used first-team keeper Alex Street, youngsters Liam Fryatt, Dylan Edge, Toby Hilliard and attacking talent Jacek Zielonka as they knocked out holders Wroxham in the quarters.

Edge and Fryatt are expected to feature again this evening when they host Ryman League Division One North Dereham, last season's runners-up.

Back added: 'The relationship between all of the teams at the club is very, very close. It's something that's not been there in recent years. Gary will be in the dugout with me and Curly (assistant Marc Curson) because we want him there.

'All of us want to get to Carrow Road. But Dereham are doing very well and play two levels above most of our players, so we know we're massive underdogs.'
