Norwich bar Mr Postles' Apothecary has had to close unexpectedly due to a clerical error regarding their licence.
They will re-open on December 30, just in time for New Year's Eve, but will miss the build up to Christmas.
Many Christmas parties which had been booked at the venue have been cancelled, with little notice, as a result.
A number of unhappy customers commented on the bar's Facebook post about their closure.
One person wrote that they were worried that their company Christmas party had been left venue-less. The team replied that they had 'left lots of messages' and e-mails in an attempt to rectify the situation.
A spokesperson for Norwich City Council said: 'We can confirm that Mr Postle's Apothecary has been asked to cease its licensable activities while it addresses its licensing arrangements.'
Only recently Mr Postles' was saved from permanent closure after the company behind it ran into financial problems. It was bought by Access Commercial Investors 2 Limited.
