Norfolk's largest hospital is to receive around £40,000 worth of training as part of a scheme to improve the quality of maternity and neonatal units.
The programme, led by NHS Improvement, aims to reduce rates of maternal deaths and stillbirths nationally by 20pc by 2020, and 50pc by 2030.
Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital has been selected as one of 45 NHS Trusts to take part in the first wave of the initiative.
Through the National Maternity and Neonatal Health Safety Collaborative, the hospital will benefit from around £40,000 worth of extensive training, support and coaching. Representatives will be trained to become qualified improvement coaches and ensure that skills are brought back to the hospital.
