With his showbiz connections Alan Thompson was never going to run out of entertaining ideas.
But all good things must come to an end and so Mr Thompson is taking a bow after seven years as activities co-ordinator at Furze Hill Residential Home in North Walsham.
During that time the radio presenter and producer has staged the musical Dreamboats and Petticoats three times, adapted TV game shows and booked an array of live acts.
'I only went for three months and ended up staying seven and a half years,' said Mr Thompson. 'I will miss everyone but I have promised to frequently return to visit them all. They have all worked hard during their lifetime. If what I have done has brought a little warmth, friendliness, comfort and made them laugh, then it's all been worth while.'
Residential home manager Ellie Cant said: 'Alan has provided a varied programme of activities for our residents and was always good for a laugh and a joke.'
