People heading to the coast have been warned to make sure they know high tide times and plan their journeys after three separate rescues.

The warning comes from HM Coastguard after three different groups of people had to be rescued after getting cut off by the tide in three separate locations on Sunday.

The first incident happened at just after 2.30pm when five people were cut off at Scolt Head Island, an offshore barrier island between Brancaster and Wells-next-the-Sea.

A hovercraft and the Wells Coastguard Rescue Team were involved in bringing the five safely back to shore.

At 3.40pm the coastguard received another call to say that another five people had been cut off at Wells although a nearby fishing vessel helped to bring them back.

Then just before 4.40pm there was another call to four people cut off at Titchwell Nature Reserve. They were brought back by inshore lifeboat.
