The East Anglian Storytelling Festival will be coming to The Locks Inn at Geldeston next weekend.

The cream of the region's storytellers will be there, including Hugh Lupton and Paul Jackson, as well as internationally acclaimed Taffy Thomas and Shonaleigh Cumbers.

The festival will start next Friday, June 30 and continue until Sunday, July 2.

Local storyteller Suzanne Arnold, who hosts the Tales and Ales story night for adults at The Locks, said: 'We are very much looking forward to this year's festival. With such a diverse ranger of tellers there will be something for everyone, young and old.

'We also have professional development sessions, children's crafts, an opportunity for anyone to tell in our storyrounds and we'll end the day with stories around the fire.'

Big Dog Ferry will also be offering 'ferry tales' on the 1pm Beccles to Geldeston trip on both Saturday and Sunday.

Artistic director Justine de Mierre added: 'Over this weekend expect to hear old tales, new tales, true tales, traditional tales, myths, legends, stand-up telling, sit-down telling, laid back telling, in-your-face telling, gentle tales, strident tales, bawdy tales, sad tales, epic tales, happy tales and frequently tales that happily trip between all of the above.'
