Five years after taking over the business which supplied sweet treats to guests at their daughter's wedding, Vanessa and Paul Kisby are opening a sweet shop at the spot they have always dreamed of owning.
The couple, who live in Beccles, have been running their Sweeties candy buffet business at weddings and functions since then, supplying specially-made candy carts and Ferris wheels to display sweets and chocolates.
They took over the business after the original owner announced she would be selling up after providing sweets at their daughter's wedding.
And now they are opening a new sweet shop in Southwold, adding to the four food and drink businesses which they already own on the Britannia Pier in Great Yarmouth.
But for them, launching Sweeties @ 1 St James Green in the seaside town is a dream come true.
Mrs Kisby, 47, said: 'It's been a sweet shop since 1933 and we always wanted a traditional sweet shop so when it came available we just had to go for it.
'We love Southwold and we've walked past it before and said if we could have any sweet shop that would be it.
'For the last three weeks we've been working 24/7 to turn the shop around and we've put everything into it.
'It's absolutely amazing to see it all coming together and the response we have had has been phenomenal.'
The couple, who are known locally as Mr and Mrs Sweeties, have devoted one side of their shop to traditional sweets in jars, while the other side includes a lollipop stand for children, speciality chocolate, fudge and holiday rock. They will also be offering sugar free and dairy free treats, and items personalised with the Sweeties logo.
Mr and Mrs Kisby were recognised for their hard work earlier this year when they picked up the Finishing Touches Award at the Eastern Daily Press Wedding Awards at Dunston Hall in Norwich.
Sweeties @ 1 St James Green will open to the public at 11am on Saturday, when customers will be invited in for tasters. There will also be, weather permitting, entertainers on stilts handing out balloons and a visit from Toy Story stars Buzz Lightyear and Woody.
