Cafe Jungle in Beccles is now offering a gluten-free brunch.

When it comes to eating out, brunch is the word. We've seen bottomless prosecco brunches. Brunch buffets. American pancake feasts.

And now diners in East Anglia can enjoy a totally gluten-free brunch thanks to Urban Jungle. The Beccles-based nursery's eatery, Café Jungle, only serves gluten-free produce and this weekend will extend its offering to brunch, including cocktails.

This comes just a few months after the nursery (which has another branch at Costessey in Norwich) opened.

Group café manager Amelia Flavell, said: 'We've had an amazing few months settling into Suffolk, getting to know our customers and really getting to grips with what they're looking for in a café and garden centre. The demand for breakfasts had become something we simply could not ignore. With supervisor Joe's creativity and talented new head chef Lewis settling in, there's no time like the present to meet these demands and deliver in true Jungle style.'

Breakfasts include a hearty shakshuka, heavily influenced by Joe's Moroccan heritage, alongside traditional European and American dishes such as smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, granola, and pancakes with crispy bacon and maple syrup.

Joe Enhari explained: 'I believe food has the power to transcend age, culture and race. It also evokes and brings forth deep long-buried memories.

'The shakshuka is a perfect example of my childhood in Morocco. The instant the peppers begin to char I am sitting with my beautiful grandmother, poking at sauces and dips and helping her roll out her enormous breads. The cumin hits the pan and I'm wandering through the vast souk or rabat, passing endless spice purveyors and street food stalls. Simply this is the food of my soul and I want to share it with everyone.'

Dishes from the brunch menu can be washed down with some of the carefully blended new cocktails, including Bloody Marys, Allotment gin and tonic (using Joe's handmade dill=infused gin) and everyone's favourite, Aperol spritz.

Brunch is being served everyday from 10am until midday and Café Jungle will be open for late night shopping and dining until 9pm every Thursday until Christmas.
