Armed police were called to a home in Taverham after a 'medical episode' in which a person died.
Norfolk police were called to an address in the village at just after 3.30pm today.
A spokesman said: 'We received reports of violence in the area and firearms units were deployed. But on attendance and after investigations, it became clear that this was a medical episode.'
The spokesman said a person had been found to have died, but that there were no suspicious circumstances and there was no danger to the wider public.
He said a file had been passed to the coroner. The armed police unit was stood down at 4.20pm, although the police presence in the area continued until 6pm.
