The village of Bodham in north Norfolk was once again rocking to the sound of local music acts as its eighth annual festival celebrated Norfolk Day in style.

The wet weather did not deter people from enjoying a line-up of home grown talent including Ultra Ego, Benni Beard, Dynamite and Dinosaurs, Drop the Clutch and Primes - all who performed on a stage proudly flying the county's yellow and black flag.

Norwich band the Naked Lights headlined this year's festival, while bar circuit regular DJ Hagstor provided the warm-up act at sunset.

Organisers also made a cheque presentation to the Norfolk Heart Trust, which benefits from £1,000 from the proceeds of last year's event.

Addressing the crowds, Dr Tony Page from the Trust said that the money would contribute to costs for equipment to deal with heart disease at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

For the 2019 event organisers strengthened their offering for families with a special zone for young children, which included performances from Chilly's Party Time, who entertained spectators with renditions of Baby Shark and Frozen's Let It Go.

Callum Ringer, one of the founding members of Rock Bodham, said it had been another success.

He said: "Rock Bodham is a celebration of music and community, and it was perfect timing that this year's event fell on the second-ever Norfolk Day.

"We were proudly flying the Norfolk flag as we showcased some of the best music acts our county has to offer, raising money for local causes at the same time."

Mr Ringer added that the festival's popularity comes down to the fact it provides an "affordable day out for families", which has been made as accessible as possible for those living in the local area.

Organisers are now turning their attention to Sheringham Carnival week, when they are planning to host a set of artist acoustic "sinkhole sessions" at the Windham Arms in town on Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th August.
