A pensioner labelled the “Michael Palin of Gorleston” will be giving two illustrated talks on his epic journeys.
Malcolm Metcalf will be giving the illustrated talks on Saturday, February 24 at 7.30pm at the Shrublands Theatre Room in Magdalen Way, Gorleston to raise funds for the Yarmouth & Gorleston Young Carers Group.
His first talk will feature his 10,000 mile American train journey through 29 states and 185 stations on 12 trains in 26 days.
MORE; Malcolm’s epic journeyThere will then be an interval which will be followed by a talk called “Around England on my bus pass” in which he travelled through 33 English counties on 125 buses in 29 days at the age of 82 in 2016 for the East Coast Hospice appeal.

Mr Metcalf has visited more than 50 countries, including Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Thailand, Singapore, Australia and Fiji.
