Another home in Hemsby has fallen victim to the ongoing erosion crisis.

Today the chalet on The Marrams was demolished by workmen from Anglian Demolition and Asbestos Ltd, which has been contracted by Great Yarmouth Borough Council to pull down seven condemned properties.

On Wednesday three homes were pulled down and work will continue tomorrow on pulling down the remaining three homes in time for the bank holiday weekend.

In total 13 homes have or will be pulled down by Anglian Demolition and Asbestos Ltd following heavy winds and rain from Sunday and also from previous bad weather in March.

The borough council has been liaising with Norfolk Constabulary, Norfolk County Council, Hemsby Lifeboat, Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service and UK Power Networks as part of the multi-agency response to the situation.

It is also in discussions with landowner Geoffrey Watling (Norwich) Ltd, which is putting in a new section of clifftop road.
