A key route into King's Lynn has reopened following an early morning crash into an historic structure.
London Road was closed between the Southgates Roundabout and Lynwood Terrace following a single vehicle accident around 4am.
A spokeswoman for Norfolk Police said a vehicle crashed into the South Gate with the final inspection of the 15th century structure now complete.
She added that an inspector was happy with the state of the structure and the road reopened at 9.08am.
Police and fire crews were called to the scene with a casualty being released from a vehicle using enhanced hydraulic rescue equipment.
The fire crews from North and South Lynn were initially on scene for just over 20 minutes, as the police closed the road in both directions.
A fire crew from North Lynn was also called at 8.30am to assist the police at the location for around 20 minutes.
