BRAYBROOKS John John passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on a beautiful sunny day in Victoria, Canada. He was predeceased by elder brother Tom in England, and survived by sister Mary (England), loving wife of 60 years Mary, son Dan (Lorrena), daughters Ann (Brian) and Sally (Don), and five grandchildren Elsa, Carrie, Gabriel, Mia, and Eric. He graduated from Norwich School in 1953 and then studied water systems at City College. John began his career with the East Suffolk and Norfolk River Authority, where he served as Area Engineer for the River Waveney arearole he truly loved. In 1970, a new opportunity led him and his young family to British Columbia, Canada, where he dedicated the next 40 years of his life to civil engineering. He designed water resource projects not only throughout BC but also in Kenya, Ghana, Indonesia, and the Caribbean. John was deeply passionate about his collection of vintage British cars, and he was never happier than when he was under the bonnet of one of them or engaging in lively discussions with his fellow car enthusiasts. The consummate gentleman, he will be very sorely missed by his family and friends. Celebration of Life to be held on September 28, 2024, in Mill Bay, BC, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Victoria Hospice are gratefully appreciated.
