As six-year-olds prepare for the first ever phonics screening check at school this summer, much-loved characters Biff, Chip and Kipper will be giving a reassuring helping hand to parents and children who want to practise together at home. Oxford University Press has released My Phonics Kit this month and is offering readers the chance to win a My Phonics Kit prize pack worth 55.

Each pack includes one copy of the Kit plus five books from the newly released Songbirds Phonics series, written by Children's Laureate, Julia Donaldson.

My Phonics Kit includes a CD-ROM with interactive eBooks and phonics support; reward chart; sticker sheet; tips for parents; and three phonics workbooks. It has been created by educational experts, to be perfectly in line with how children learn to read in school.

It is the latest addition to the wide range of Oxford University Press phonics resources for parents, which includes the free interactive eBooks and advice on www.oxfordowl.co.uk, the Read with Biff, Chip and Kipper books available on the high-street and the Songbirds Phonics series.

The kit combines decoding practice with engaging stories and interactive features – making learning to read a fun and exciting journey.
