Eighty-four decorated dragons are dotted around the city centre for the GoGoDragons! sculpture trail, organised by children's charity Break and Wild in Art.

Each creature is designed by a local artist and sponsored by a local organisation, with the hope they will encourage people to explore pockets of Norwich they have never been to before and ultimately raise valuable funds to enable Break help young people in need.

Martin Green, GoGoDragons! project manager, said people were clambering to start the trail at 6am yesterday morning.

He said: 'We have had an amazing response to the trail. We are trying to get people to parts of the city where they have never been, while bringing together art, tourism and raising money for charity. There is some amazing art on display all around the city for people to see. We want to make sure this is a summer to remember for Norwich.'

George, the EDP and Evening News' dragon designed by reader John Checketts and recreated by North Walsham-based artist Martin Wall, is the only beast which can speak.

He can be found outside the newspapers' offices on Rouen Road in Norwich.

The 5ft high glass-fibre creatures feature in much of Norwich's architecture and the city has churches dedicated to Saint George in Tombland and Colegate – both of which house dragon symbols.

GoGoDragons! will run until September 5, and on October 1 the dragons will be auctioned off at The Forum to raise funds for Break.

Free trail maps are available at venues across the city and online at www.gogodragons.co.uk

An additional trail of baby dragons designed by local schools and community groups will also fly into the city on July 4.

Start collecting your stickers of Norwich's GoGoDragons!

The GoGoDragons! have landed, their special sticker book has been launched, and today is the day you can start collecting your stickers of Norwich's fire-breathing stars.

To celebrate the GoGoDragons! charity art trail through Norwich, the EDP and Evening News have teamed up with East of England Co-op and trail organisers Break and Wild in Art to create the album featuring all of the fiery characters and their 2013 predecessors, the GoGoGorillas!

The book – which costs £5 and is raising funds for children's charity Break – has been eagerly snapped up by dragon fans since it was launched last week, and today the stickers are going on sale.

EDP and Evening News readers will be able to claim free packs of stickers with a daily voucher being published in both papers from today. You can also buy sticker packs for £1 each.

EDP and Evening News editor Nigel Pickover said: 'We are delighted to welcome the wonderful GoGoDragons! clan to our fine city this summer, and we – along with our friends at the East of England Co-op – wanted to create something really special to celebrate the arrival of our winged warriors and support the amazing work that children's charity Break does.

'The album has already proven extremely popular and we are pleased to be able to offer free stickers to all of our loyal readers.

'We hope dragon hunters will have a great time collecting all 150 stickers and creating a special souvenir of this spectacular trail. Each of the 84 dragons has their own sticker and we have also created stickers for all of the GoGoGorillas! who were our stars of 2013. There are also 12 extra special shiny stickers to add to the fun!'

The sticker book and stickers are available at EDP and Evening News offices, participating East of England Co-op stores, Break charity shops and Norwich department store Jarrold. From today, the EDP and Norwich Evening News will be publishing a voucher each day which can be exchanged for one free pack of five stickers, and Saturday's EDP will include two vouchers. Alternatively you can buy sticker packs for £1 each.

You can keep collecting all the way to 150 stickers, but also have an option of buying your last 20 stickers, subject to availability, from the EDP and Norwich Evening News head office in Rouen Road for 20p per sticker.

To do this you must show

your album filled with 130 stickers.

The GoGoDragons! sticker album is also available to buy online from www.edp24.co.uk and www.eveningnews24.co.uk
