It's what every Norwich City fan wants to see when Angus Gunn lines up as their number one next season.

When Angus Gunn takes to the field for the first time as a Canary following his loan move from Manchester City, it would bring the house down if he tried to head the crossbar before the game, just as he father, Bryan, used to do during his 12 years with Norwich.

However, Bryan has got a bit of advice if his son was considering performing the same act.

'I would advise Angus not to head the crossbar because you will see butterflies around your head for at least 10 minutes,' joked Bryan.

'He (Angus) doesn't need to jump to head the crossbar. I was 6ft 3ins at my highest and Angus is 6ft 6ins so it's only a hop, skip and a jump and he's nearly there.

'He has got his own way of doing things.

'I didn't even know I used to do that – it was something that Norwich City fans picked up on.

'At the back of my mind it was just part of my routine.'

Comparisons with his dad are inevitable but Bryan insists Angus will do things his own way upon his return to Carrow Road.'Angus is a man in his own right now. He's 21 – he moved out of parentage two or three years ago.

'He's got his own property, lives with his girlfriend, he's got his own dog Elvis so he'll be coming to Norfolk as well.

Ederson's move to Manchester City from Benfica looked likely to push Angus further down the pecking order at the Etihad and he has moved back to Norwich to gain some first team experience in the Championship.

Angus certainly hasn't given up on his Premier League dream though, according to Bryan, and could even play there for Norwich in the future if Manchester were to sanction such a move.

'If they (Norwich) have a successful season next year who's to say Man City wouldn't loan him out for another year,' Bryan told Radio Norfolk. 'It's a great opportunity for everyone.

'He had other options in League One, opportunities in the Championship and there was a Premier league club he could have plumped for.

'When he heard that Norwich City were interested, Stuart Webber was working behind the scenes to make it happen.

'Once Daniel Farke was announced they progressed through with Manchester City to get him on a year's loan and now he's focused.

'He's got a big tournament in Poland for the next few weeks where he will be battling with (Sunderland goalkeeper) Jordan (Pickford).

'Jordan is a testament for what can happen if you are given the opportunity. He played 40-odd games in the Premier League this season and people are now talking about him in the £20m bracket.'
