David Wagner shared his mixed emotions after Norwich City's 2-2 draw with Swansea on Saturday afternoon.

The Canaries created enough opportunities to win the contest with Shane Duffy seeing two headers cleared off the line in the second half and City peppering Carl Rushworth's goal throughout the game, recording 27 efforts.

Norwich's lack of cutting-edge left Wagner frustrated, but he was full of praise for his side's improved performance after an off-colour display against Bristol City at Carrow Road last weekend.

"Performance-wise, absolutely positive. It was a proper performance after last week when we were not at our best. Today we were back to our normal, very aggressive levels," Wagner reflected after the draw.

"The players have shown a lot of desire, hunger, and intensity. We defended with a high line and won a lot of turnovers.

"We created great opportunities but we were not clinical and ruthless in the opponents box. This is why we didn't get what we deserved in this game. A few people asked me 'how did you not win this game?' the answer is quite easy - it's because we did not use our chances and were not clinical.

"But how the players executed the game, all good. It was a good performance, I'm absolutely fine with this. I love to win it. But sometimes you don't get what you deserve. We will take a point and move on.

"We've all seen how difficult it is in the Championship, especially at this stage of the season, to win or even to collect points. We have done this consistently and the players have got the rewards and that's why we are where we are in the table at the minute."

Two moments of quality from Gabriel Sara, firstly to score a stunning goal from range before teeing up Josh Sargent to put City ahead before half-time, ensured Norwich kept their points tally ticking over.

They are on the cusp of securing their top six finish, with West Brom needing to beat Preston and Hull requiring victory over Plymouth and an eight goal swing to push the Canaries out of contention.
