After weeks of snow and rain Spring is set to arrive this weekend with some areas of Norfolk and Waveney set to be warmer than the Spanish capital.
Temperatures could reach 16C on Saturday with Madrid forecast to see highs of 15C.
Richard Jones, of Norwich-based Weatherquest, said although the temperatures won't be record breaking it will feel noticeably warmer.
'On Saturday there will be Spring like temperatures but there will be some cloud and some patchy rain later on,' he said. 'There will be maximum temperatures of 15C and 16C which is above average for this time of year.
'On Sunday a front will linger over the region which will see temperatures drop to between 10C and 12C with more cloud.'
Inland areas, such as Norwich, will see some of the warmest weather with a southerly breeze on the coast making it feel slightly cooler.
The warmer weather comes after parts of the region saw almost a month's worth of rainfall over the Easter weekend.
Local forecaster Dan Holley tweeted that the March regional monthly average is 44mm, while in April it is 45mm.
But he said from Good Friday to Easter Monday, parts of the east almost matched the month-long total.
In Wittering, Cambridgeshire, 42mm fell over the four days, along with 41mm in Cromer, 40mm in Weybourne, 39mm in Tibenham and 35mm at Houghton Hall and Santon Downham.
