A severe weather warning for ice and snow has been issued across Norfolk and Suffolk for tonight.
Weather experts are predicting those in the east will catch their first glimpse of light snow this week as temperatures drop to 2C tonight and tomorrow.
Meteorologist Dan Holley said East Anglia should expect 'showers turning increasingly to sleet/snow from Wednesday night to Thursday night' with a chance for a light covering in a few places.
He added: 'Ice may be a notable issue Thursday and Friday mornings where showers wash salt/grit away, then freeze during intervening clear spells.'
The Met Office have issued a severe yellow warning for snow and ice between 6pm on Wednesday November 29 and 11am on Thursday, November 30.
They said: 'Wintry showers may lead to 2 to 5 cm of snow accumulating on the ground.'
Norfolk County Council's gritters have been out over the weekend and will continue to be used this week.
Iain Temperton, Norfolk County Council's casualty reduction team manager, said: 'The most important piece of advice we tell drivers is to always drive to the road conditions and never assume those conditions won't change throughout your journey.'
