Those wishing to show solidarity with Manchester following the terror attack will have the opportunity to do so this evening as vigils are held in Norwich.

Students from the University of East Anglia (UEA) have arranged a vigil to show support for those who lost their lives on Monday.

The event will take place from 5pm on Wednesday, May 24 in The Square at UEA.

Attendees are invited to say a few words and share in a moment of silence.

A second vigil, arranged by Stand Up To Racism Norwich, is also to be held this evening.

The event will occur on the steps outside City Hall from 6pm and representatives from various local religious communities are expected to be present.

A total of 22 people were killed on Monday by a lone male suicide bomber at an Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena.

A further 59 people were injured in the blast.

Ellie Johns, one of the UEA vigil organisers, said: 'A few of us came together and decided we wished to pay our respects and show support for the people of Manchester at this time, and we want others to be able to do so as well.

'Manchester is a wonderful city and is close to many of us. We want to show that we are united.'
