Sparks in the Park is gone, but a fireworks spectacular still went off with a bang at Earlham Park in Norwich last night.
The city council-organised Sparks In The Park event did not happen this year - switching instead to a free Big Boom event which will see fireworks launched from Norwich Castle on Friday.
But hundreds still headed to Earlham Park, where the popular event used to be held, after a replacement private display was put on.
The Earlham Park Bonfire and Fireworks Extravaganza was organised by the Gray family, who had first started a fireworks show in the park nearly 30 years ago.
The event featured a funfair, food and live music, with children's fireworks at 6.30pm and the main display at 9pm.
Norfolk police said they had received 13 calls about fireworks over the weekend, but none were serious and the majority did not require a response from officers.
Norfolk Fire and Rescue had to put out an unattended bonfire in Shipfield, off Sprowston Road in Norwich, just before 12.30am today, but a spokeswoman said there had not been any incidents specifically related to fireworks.
