'If you have her please return her to her home because we are very upset and worried' - a five-year-old girl has issued this heartbreaking message after it is believed her pet goat was stolen.

Little Florence Follen's pygmy goat Judy went missing from a field at the Pinefield Boarding Kennels & Cattery, Brandon, on Monday between 12am and 5am.

It is not known how she was taken but three other adult goats and a baby were left behind.

Lucy Follen said Florence and her two other daughters, Ruby, 8, and Lily, 14, have been left devastated by their pet's disappearance.

'Every morning Florence wakes up and says 'I just want Judy to come home',' said Mrs Follen. 'They keep dreaming about it which is not good. People do not understand, they have not just taken my pet, look what they have done to my children.

'It is really heartbreaking. Who would do something like this? I can live with a bike being stolen but this is my daughter's pet. She cannot understand why somebody would take Judy.'

The 18-month old goat has been with the family since January but has formed a strong bond with her owners.

Mrs Follen said: 'She is beautiful. She is the most affectionate goat. She will let you give her a belly rub. She is just a sweetheart and she will just come up and sit on your lap.'

Mrs Follen has put an appeal out over social media which has been spread across the country.

Florence, with the help of Ruby, wrote a letter pleading with the person who took Judy to return 'our baby'.

Part of the note reads: 'I am 5 years old and I lost my little goat and I am very upset and I want her back.'

Mrs Follen has notified the police but has said she hopes if someone has taken her they will drop the goat back at the kennels on Lingheath Road or somewhere in the town.

She said: 'There is no way she could have got out.

'I want the person to put her in someone's garden or somewhere in the town. I want her back safe. I just want her home.

'We have looked everywhere and we have heard nothing. I just feel like we are going to get her back. I am not giving up.'

Judy is microchipped and has the tag number 00724 on both ears. If you have information call 01842 811519.
