They're a much-loved sign that spring's around the corner.
But the rare blooms of bluebells and snowdrops are also attraacting thieves, who steal wildflowers to sell on the black market.
Police say up to 10,000 plants have been dug up from a suite at South Pickenham, near Swaffham.
For some reason the gang left both the plants and the crates they intended to transport and sell them on in behind - perhaps because they were disturbed.
The following day a second batch of plants was targetted at nearby Narborough. This time they were dug up and removed, with the gang leaving behind some transport crates.
Wild flowers are protected by the Wildlife and Countryside Act. Conservationists fear theft could threaten the survival of some rare species.
Police say anyone aware of a rural crime taking place there and then should call 999.
