A man has died after suffering a medical emergency on the Norfolk Broads.
Emergency services were called to Bridge Road in Potter Heigham at 4.45pm on Tuesday and found a man in the water.
A spokesman for Norfolk Constabulary said that despite the best efforts of those at the scene, the man in his 60s was pronounced dead.
His next of kin have been informed.
A holidaymaker, who does not want to be named, said he saw "four or five people jump in to save the man".
"Two ladders were also put into the water by a local boat firm," he explained. "It's a shocking thing to see when you're on holiday."
The incident happened close to Herbert Woods boatyard, near to the bridge over the River Thurne.
Herbert Woods did not want to comment on the incident.
