Parents of paralysed teenager, Maisie Lossau, have unveiled the memory garden planted in their late daughter’s memory.

Last year, Darrell and Dawn Lossau, of Spixworth, appealed to the BBC's DIY SOS team for help.

They had started to build an annexe for the youngster, but tragically the 17-year-old died before this could happen.

Maisie was diagnosed with a brain tumour in January 2016 but removal surgery left her paralysed.

She died at hospital on August 15, 2022.

Mrs Lossau said: “It was such a shock, and we were devastated. We still are.”

The family were helped by several traders, including Dunthorne Developments, and paid thanks to them all.

Mrs Lossau added: “We wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who got involved in this project.

“It means so much to us that despite everything going on in the world, there are still some very awesome people out there.”

In July 2019, inspired by her journey, worldwide global singing star Ed Sheeran sent a personal video message to the teenager, in which he called her "awesome".
