With many roadworks happening in Norwich, some journey times may be longer due to traffic being diverted and roads closed.
Here are some the major roadworks to be aware of in the city this week.
1. Boundary junction
The works, at the Boundary junction where Mile Cross meets Hellesdon, will be carried out in four phases, from today until August 31.
The project involves the replacement of all the traffic lights and resurfacing of the road.
The A140 Aylsham Road, Cromer Road and Reepham Road will be closed at the junction for a number of weeks and signed diversion routes will be in place.
2. Ketts Hill
Roadworks have commenced until August 11 in Ketts Hill from its junction with Gurney Road for 30m eastwards.
Other roads that will be affected include Gurney Road from its junction with Heathgate and its junction with the Ketts Hill roundabout.
Signs will indicate when the roads are closed during the 40 days of roadworks.
3. Rupert Street
Essential surfacing works are taking place on Rupert Street, between its junctions with Essex Street and Norfolk Street.
Old paving slabs are being removed and new asphalt surfacing laid, along with the replacement of damaged kerbs.
Two-way traffic lights are in place between Rupert Street, Vauxhall Street and Essex Street.
4. Carrow Road
Work at the junction of Carrow Road with Canary Way will start on July 15.
To carry out the works it will be necessary to install multi-way temporary traffic lights, which will be manually controlled during peak periods to help traffic flow as smoothly as possible while the work is under way.
During the works in Koblenz Avenue, a closure of Canary Way will be in place for two nights.
5. Norwich Road
The A140 Norwich Road will close in order for line painting to be carried out and cat’s eyes renewed.
The work, which is weather dependent, will be carried out after the last bus at 8.10pm with any closures only in place for a few hours at a time.
The road will close on July 14 for road marking and stud replacement.
