A councillor has resigned just eight weeks after being elected.
Drew Moore, who was elected as a Labour councillor for Thorpe St Andrew North West ward at the local elections in May, has resigned from Broadland District Council (BDC).
A by-election will have to be held in the seat, but a date has not been set.
Mr Moore said he had resigned because he could not balance the role with a new job and provide it the time it deserves.
He added: "I apologise to local residents for resigning. But I’ve enjoyed speaking to a number of them on the doors and also starting to help with casework in the short time I was in the role.
"I’ve donated my councillor allowance to Thorpe dementia cafe and hope the best in the future for Thorpe St Andrew and the Broadland district."
Natasha Harpley, the Labour leader at BDC, said the departure would not affect the Broadland’s political balance, with the council controlled by a coalition of Liberal Democrat, Labour and Green councillors.
The partnership holds 26 of the 47 seats.
