Tesco in Wisbech has reopened today (June 26) after a campervan caught fire in the store’s car park yesterday afternoon (June 25).
The Wisbech store had to close for the afternoon due to the fire, but is trading as normal today.
A spokesperson for Tesco said: “Our Wisbech Extra store is open and trading as usual today after being closed yesterday afternoon when a camper van caught fire in the car park.
“We are sorry for any inconvenience caused to our customers yesterday.”
Fire crews from Wisbech, March, and Thorney were called to the the store at 12:44pm.
A spokesperson from Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue service said: “Firefighters arrived to find a well-developed fire involving a campervan in an underground car park, with the fire spreading to nearby cars.
“Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using hose reels. They returned to their stations by 3pm.
“The cause of the fire was accidental.”
