HSBC has confirmed when it will close its Fakenham branch.
The bank, which operates on the Market Place in the town, confirmed it will permanently close its door on Tuesday, May 23.
Fakenham's branch is one of 114 across the UK which is set to close in 2023 due to declining footfall.
It was announced last year that the bank was shutting branches in Norfolk and Suffolk, including Cromer, Norwich Mile Cross, Wymondham, Beccles and Sudbury.
This leaves Norfolk branches in Dereham, Diss, Yarmouth, King's Lynn and two in Norwich.
It was suggested last December that the bank branch could become Fakenham's new permanent post office, after both the MP Jerome Mayhew and the town’s mayor, Angela Glynn raised concern over the closure.
Jackie Uhi, HSBC UK's managing director of UK distribution, said: "People are changing the way they bank and footfall in many branches is at an all-time low, with no signs of it returning. Banking remotely is becoming the norm for the vast majority of us."
NatWest has also confirmed its Fakenham branch will close later this year.
