A Dereham man has talked of his growing confidence and improved health after losing nearly six stone in a year.
Chris Goodrum, 59, has dropped three dress sizes and changed his life after feeling at his mentally lowest this time last year following being in a Thai hospital after an accident.
One year on, Chris has gone from 21st 13lbs, to 14st 13lbs and aims to have lost 6st by New Year's Eve.
Prior to losing weight, Chris was diagnosed pre-diabetic with type two diabetes for the second time. But he says "it is not coming back this time", now that he is no longer diabetic.
Between January and September, Chris lost significant weight every week. Between February and April he lost a staggering stone each month.
He says "eggs are the key" and cannot remember the last time he ordered a takeaway.
After struggling with small tasks such as putting his socks on, it was his grandchildren, aged one, two and five, which were the main incentive to lose the weight, wanting to be able to watch them grow up.
He decided to join Fakenham Slimming World and found a group of friends for support through his journey.
"I couldn't have been any lower and I thought, you've got to do something about this.
"One year ago I felt I was going to lose my life and now I feel I've put ten years on it."
Rather than getting "out of puff" travelling to London and climbing the stairs in the stadium to watch Chelsea play with his son, Chris aims to cycle a minimum of 100 miles each week.
