Runton United should pack a punch when they play probably the biggest match in their history.
A place in the Norfolk Junior Cup final will be at stake when the unbeaten North East Norfolk League leaders take on Mundford from Division Two of the Anglian Combination at Woodhill (2pm) this afternoon. It's the stuff that dreams are made of – and boxing brothers Liam and Ryan Walsh will be among those doing their utmost to ensure Runton get their big night out at Carrow Road in May.
Both are regulars in the team and although Ryan is currently training in the Canary Islands he plans to fly home just for the game to join his twin in the starting line-up.
'I've played at Carrow Road, but only when some of us got together and hired it out.' said Liam.
'I've been involved in Cromer Lifboat Cup wins and I played a couple of times for Cromer first team when I was there.
'But this is as big as it gets football-wise for me.'
The winners of the tie will take on either Gayton United or East Harling in the final on May 12.
Tomorrow Trimingham Pilgrims entertain Windmill Reserves in the last four of the Norfolk Sunday Intermediate Cup.
