A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Norwich man who failed to appear at court in connection with the assault of a referee at an under-13s football match.
Kurt Bramley, from Churchman Road, Heartsease, Norwich, was charged with assault by beating after a man in his 50s was taken to hospital with serious facial injuries following an incident with a spectator.
It happened during a game between Diss Town U13s and Spixworth U13s which was abandoned following the incident and prompted an investigation by the Norfolk County Football Association.
After being charged, the 36-year-old was due to appear at Norwich Magistrates Court on April 18 but failed to attend.
A spokesman for Norfolk Police said a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
As previously reported, police were called to Bressingham playing fields on December 10 last year and arrested a man on suspicion of assault.
Spixworth Youth FC took to social media to condemn the actions of the spectator, saying they were "disgusted" by what had happened.
However, their U13s team have since been unable to play as all of their fixtures were postponed by the Norfolk Combined Youth Football League amid the investigations.
